OA SUPPORTS COUNCIL CAMPOREE and ROKILIO EXPERIENCE at CAMP ROKILIO

The Order of the Arrow held their Spring Fellowship event at Camp Rokilio in April.  The focus of the event was to provide support to the council camporee for Scouts and Venturers, and the Rokilio Experience for Cub Scouts.  Over 500 Scouts, Venturers and Cub Scouts attended.  OA members provided program support, meal service, set-up & take-down help, planned and conducted the campfire program and performed many other tasks throughout the weekend.  The OA was able to also have some fun & fellowship, share information about suicide awareness and Native American culture, and welcomed new Brotherhood members during an early morning ceremony on Sunday.

OA HELP FOR COUNCIL CAMPOREE AT GARDNER DAM

OA members who are attending the council camporee at Gardner Dam, can help with set-up, take-down, parking, camp guides, OA call-out ceremony, etc.  After you have fulfilled responsibilities to your unit and able to help, find the lodge adviser, Mike Mailand, or check with the camporee chair, Adam Vandenbush.

OA UNIT ELECTIONS

Unit elections have been extended beyond the April 1st deadline.  If a unit has not held their OA election, they can request an election in May by contacting unitelections@konwapos.org.  If a unit is attending one of the council camporees in May, an OA election team can conduct an election at the camporee.  Eligibility requirements were modified for 2021.  If a Scout or Venturer has become eligible after a unit election has been held in 2021, the unit may be able to conduct another election.  Any Scout elected in 2020 who was not able to complete their Ordeal in 2020, remains eligible and can complete their Ordeal in 2021.  Adult nominations are submitted separately from the youth election by the unit committee chair.  Contact Unitelections@konwapos.org or the lodge adviser with any questions.

OA CALL-OUT CEREMONIES FOR NEWLY ELECTED MEMBERS

Call-out ceremonies will be conducted at council camporees in April and May, and during summer camp at Camp Hiawatha and Bear Paw, to recognize the newly elected members.  Units attending an out-of-council camp can request a letter from the lodge adviser authorizing the OA, at the camp you are attending, to call-out your elected youth and selected adult members.  The OA callout ceremony is not required for a candidate to participate in the Ordeal induction weekend.

WELCOME MEETINGS FOR NEWLY ELECTED

Newly elected youth and their parents are invited to attend an OA WELCOME MEETING to learn more about the Ordeal induction weekend and how to prepare themselves to attend one of the conferences.  OA candidates (youth and adult) will receive an invitation to attend a Welcome Meeting on May 18 or May 20.  If you have questions, please contact the lodge adviser.

Choose to attend one.  If you are not able to attend one of the scheduled meetings, you can contact the lodge adviser.
