Spring Conference

Spring Conferences are upon us! Join us at Bear Paw, Gardner Dam, Hiawatha, or Rokilio in May and June!

Scouts and Scouters elected and nominated for membership in the Order of the Arrow will be able to complete their Ordeal at one of four events over three weekends. Those already members of the OA and completed their Ordeal in 2023 or earlier are eligible to seal their membership by completing their Brotherhood. Those members selected for the Vigil Honor can keep their Vigil at any of the three weekend.

Ordeal Candidate and Parents can learn more about the Ordeal weekend and induction journey here.

All members are invited to join us to give service to our Bay-Lakes Council camps to help prepare them for their summer seasons. Without your help, they wouldn’t be able to open for the summer. Some key projects include putting the dock in at Bear Paw, setting up canvas tents at Gardner Dam, and cleaning theme buildings at Rokilio. We also need members to help support the Ordeal Candidates through their journey by serving as an Elangomat, assisting ceremonies teams, and helping with their service projects. There’s something for everyone. Click an event to register – we can’t wait to see you there!

Kon Wapos Lodge Developing New Callout Ceremony

Kon Wapos Lodge is planning a new call-out ceremony to be used during summer camp at Bear Paw and Hiawatha. We will be following the National OA guidelines in developing the call-out ceremony. Join the lodge officers and others on May 12th to help develop the new call-out ceremony.

OA Unit Elections & Visitations

Order of the Arrow unit visitation teams are meeting with Scout and Venturing units in the council February through the end of April.

Unit visitation teams are attending unit meetings to share information about the Order of the Arrow, update members about new summer camp opportunities and conduct an Order of the Arrow election in those units that have youth eligible for election into the Order of the Arrow.

New this year is the presentation of a white ribbon to each Scout at the time they are elected. This will signify the newly elected Scout is an Ordeal candidate. The ribbon represents the OA sash before the Arrow is presented during the induction weekend. When the candidate attends the Ordeal induction weekend, they will receive an Ordeal sash with a red arrow and a lodge flap that will be sewn onto the right pocket flap of their uniform, signifying they are a member of the Order of the Arrow.
