The Natowa - New Years

Order of the Arrow at the Council Convention

Kon Wapos Lodge returns to the 2023 Council Convention. Order of the Arrow members were at the inaugural council convention in 2022, providing service and support at the council event.

At the 2023 council convention, OA members will help by providing directions for convention participants as they navigate to Spark Sessions, meals, and other activities. They will assist with the exhibit hall set-up and take down. The OA will present some of the Spark Sessions on Saturday and lead the Scouts OWN on Sunday morning. OA members are also participating in the Council Convention program on Saturday. The OA will host other activities for youth at the convention. There are plans to use the recreation center located at the Green Lake Conference Center. Optional overnight lodging for youth and adult advisers will be at the Robbins dorm building.

OA youth members will have the option to attend Saturday only or choose the lodging option for Friday and/or Saturday night. Youth members will stay at the Robbins dorm building, along with some adult members. The lodge is subsidizing costs for OA members. Youth OA members will receive a special reduced rate for the weekend program, meals and lodging in return for their service at the convention.

Adult OA members willing to be a part of the OA service team can contact the lodge adviser for the registration code for the special rate. Adult OA members can choose to assist at the Convention and participate in the program & Spark Sessions. They will also provide adult supervision at the dorm and rec center. Adult members choosing this option will stay at the dorm building. Adults who wish to participate in the Council Convention with the Friday night Kentucky Derby option or the Saturday evening dinner and Silver Beaver recognition, should register as a regular attendee at the Convention registration site. Lodging for Convention attendees is at Kern Lodge. Lodging for the OA youth and OA adult service team members is at the Robbins Dorm building.

Kon Wapos Lodge 10th Anniversary

The Lodge Communications team is assembling a history book to mark the Lodge’s 10th anniversary covering the highs, lows, and everything in between of the last 10 years. This is where you come in: tell us what you know; send us your pictures.

We want to include your stories, memories, pictures, and ideas for this history book! Use the form at the link below to submit your materials. Have a lot? Share it with us via email at contact@konwapos.org.

This could be as simple as why you completed your Ordeal; your experience getting called out at summer camp; what your Ordeal project was; maybe it rained all night during your Ordeal; or maybe you made a best friend at a lodge event. We want to hear all about it!

We anticipate project completion by Lodge Gathering in August.
